The Lion Roars Worship School

We are so excited to be hosting another Worship Conference in August this year.  The Lion Roars Conference is in its second year now and many people have benefitted from attending it.  The first conference as last summer and since then, David and his wife, Ruth have done parts of it in Pomona, California, and also in Zambia.

This conference is not only for worship leaders, musicians and singers, but all those who have a heart of overflow as a worshipper.

We are so thrilled this year to have Lara Martin with us.  Lara is a gifted worship leader, speaker, equipper and lover of God.  She has been on a journey over the last number of years deeper into the Father and her ministry is a direct result of that journey.  As well as Lara, we have David Lewis with us again this year.  David is the Worship Leader at Holy Trinity Church in Leicester.

We are discovering that family is a big deal, and to that end our prayer is again that, as last year, this summers conference  will carry that element of family.  We read in the Scriptures that families were involved in worship.  I believe that this is on God’s heart and we must not neglect it.

New CD

Image

Yesterday, saw the final mix of the new album by Sarah Clay and David Hadden.  Recorded by Nathan Mackenzie and assisted by Michael Hadden.

The  recording features Sarah Clay on flute, alto flute and bass flute as well as singing, and David Hadden on piano and keys.  recorded at the Leys School in Cambridge, where Sarah works.  This is the first recording that David & Sarah have done together and judging by the response so far it has turned out really well.

The recording comprises of existing songs that we allowed God to breathe into , and then other pieces of music that evolved as we ministered to God together.  The album should be released in the summer.  for more details you can contact David or Sarah though Facebok

November 2011

What a month it has been.
Actually, although I have entitled this post as November is really is about the last month. In October Ruth and I were delighted to Ben McElwee from San Diego. We have known his parents for about 10 years and while we were visiting there in July just felt that we needed to invite Ben over here to be with us for a period of time.
Lots of stuff was going on for us and Ben got to tag along. Judging by the letter he wrote to us he loved his time over here.
HIs time over here culminated in him attending the three day Space Conference at High Leigh in Hertfordshire. This was a retreat for worship leaders to come aside into a safe environment and allow God to minister to them. What an awesome time we had.
Since then we have been enjoying again what God is doing here in Leicester. He is healing us, freeing us, refreshing us and liberating us, amongst other things. Last Sundays meeting was amazing and then true to form, God does something fresh at the Encountering God meeting last night. Up another level. More Lord!
In between all of this, Ruth and I were privileged to be in Cambridge visiting with our daughter and son-in-law and the worship team that they are apart of, and then meeting with another church leadership on the Monday. Wow, God is so good.
We are living in exciting days and learning to host the presence of God as we go along.
More soon about the rest of November and our forthcoming trip to see our son and his family in America.

Welcome Benjamin

Last Friday, Ruth and I were so thrilled to welcome Benjamin Mcelwee from San Diego to the UK.  Benjamin is the son of Mark and Pat Mcelwee, who pastor a church in San Diego.  Ruth and I have known them for many years.  When we were visiting them earlier this year, God dropped it into our hearts to have Benjamin over here with us for a few weeks.  To do some mentoring and encouraging.

Benjamin is involved in the Worship Team at the church.  At the moment he runs the sound system, but he also plays a number of instruments.

At the moment he is coming to terms with jet-lag.  Another couple of days and he will be through all of that.  We have a full programme for him, which includes meeting with a number of the other members of the worship team here in Leicester, as well as attending various events that are planned.    This coming weekend we are privileged to host Jerame and Miranda Nelson from San Diego.  It’s a small world, because they are part of the church that Ben’s mum and dad pastor.  Jerame and Miranda are being used tremendously by God in healing and impartation.  We are so excited to host them, and believe that it will propel us here in Leicester closer to God and more passionate to see him use us.

Please pray for us as we seek to mentor Benjamin and encourage the life of God in him.

We are also loving receiving the photographs that are being posted from St Louis.  Our youngest son, Michael and our daughter and her husband, Faith and Ben are there visiting their brother, Sam.  Sam, his wife Anna and their son Wesley were so excited to have them visit.  We miss them all, but Ruth and I get the chance to go and visit St Louis in December.  Yeah!

More Lord!

The header for this blog comes from a passion in our hearts for “More” just as it says.  Our Father has so much more to give.  An inexhaustible supply, for us.  If it’s love, healing, joy, power he’s got it!  In abundance!  And so, we cry out to you, Lord, for more!

In the past few weeks, Ruth and I have been at the River Camp in Evesham, where the river literally flowed!  Such a great time in that environment of passion.  The following week, we were so privileged to attend the Revival Alliance meetings at Marsham Street in London.  God was speaking prophetically over our nation.  Speakers included, Che Ahn, Bill Johnson, John and Carol Arnott, Georgian Banov, and Roland Baker.  WOW.  What a line up of anointing!  Bill Johnson made a prophetic declaration that we should mark September 1st 2011 as a strategic day and we are!  Georgian Banov released the spirit of joy into the place.  It was amazing.  More Lord!

The whole event was magnificent.  We would automatically go again, if there was another.

God wants us to soar on eagles wings.  In Isaiah 40 v 31 it says: those who hope or wait on the Lord will renew their strength.  They will soar on eagles wings, run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.  We are discovering that the key to soaring, running and walking is to wait on the Lord.  Time in his presence is invaluable for every believer. We cannot do without it!

Last weekend, Ruth and I spent a wonderful weekend in Hull, with our friends Mike and Chris Hardy.  Once again, this was a full on time.  Meetings with the worship team, city worship leaders, an Encountering God evening and the Church meeting.  God sustained us as we opened up our hearts to the Lord again and shared what he had given to us.  Our daddy was so faithful to us, and we love him even more for who he is and what he is doing.  We are growing in love for him more and more and know that our own relationship is deepening.

This is a picture of Ruth sharing at the Encountering God meeting.

On Monday, Ruth and I went with Ian and Marj to Winchester Vineyard to listen to Randy Clark.  Once again God was there and we were so glad to have had the opportunity to attend.   The place was packed with hungry people wanting more!  Fancy that!

For your information here are some things that are coming us for us in the next few weeks:

Sunday, September 18th: An evening with Ian and Marj Rossol at the church pastored by Nigel and Annie DiCastiglione in Harbourne, Birmingham.

September 23rd-24th:  Father’s Heart Conference in Leicester with Ian and Marj Rossol

Saturday, October 1st:  Trumpet Call meeting here at All Nations Centre, Leicester. Trumpet Call is a prayer/worship initiative for Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire.

October 7th-8th:  Jerame and Miranda Nelson from the USA.  A weekend of healing and impartation.  This is a More Lord, weekend!!

Thank you for taking the time to read this blog.  I count it an honour to be able to share with you what God is doing.  And like Bill Johnson says, we should celebrate what God is doing.

More Lord!

Worship Connexion

On Saturday, October 29th we are hosting another Worship Connexion day at All Nations Centre, from 10:00 – 4:00.  Refreshments are provided, but we are asking that you bring your own packed lunch.

All worshippers are very welcome, and the purpose of us meeting is to allow God to facilitate greater connexions between worshippers from all over the country, as well as allowing our hearts to be free to minister to the him in worship.  Last time we met, God was so faithful as we pressed in on him and his presence was so special.

You will be very welcome to come and meet with others of like mind and heart and passion.  We are asking if you wouldn’t mind calling in to the Office to let us know that you are coming.  The Office telephone number is: 0116 262-3222.

Looking forward to seeing you.

Home sweet home!

Ruth and I returned home last Saturday from Phoenix.  We had spent four days there with Jonny and Kathy Gunn.  Once again it was so wonderful to Jonny and Kathy and see all that God is leading them into.

Our trip to the USA was so good and we felt like we had accomplished all that God wanted us to do on this trip while we were there.  It was also wonderful to get to see our family over there.  Sam, Anna and Wesley had driven up to St Charles IL., to see us for our first weekend.  It was so good to see how they fitted in with the Church and the people there.  Our prayers are for a closer linking.  We love you.

Also, while we were away, our son, Michael has completed his first Album.  We are so delighted at the finished result after all the hard work that he has put in over the past few months.  The Album will be released in the next few weeks.

Our daughter and son-in-law, Faith and Ben are continuing to seek God for their future. We believe that God wants them to spread their wings and fly.  So gardeners tell me – a plant that is planted in the correct soil, and has the best conditions, will grow.  We believe, once again that God wants to you both to grow and come into the fulness of your calling.

The worship team, here in Leicester has been developing well since we have been away. Times of great anointing and some challenges.  Every day life of a worship team! Challenges are not failures!  Challenges press us into God for a greater understanding of how to press through.  We will be focusing on this in the next few weeks as we meet together.

One of the main things that has blessed us since we returned from the USA is seeing the people that we work with.  God has knitted our hearts together and we are keen to allow God to join us closer.  Ian and Marj, Ian and Gill, John and Jane, James and Sarah we love you and honour all that God is doing in you and through you.  Ruth and I are thrilled to work with friends like you, and we know that God desires to lead us into more of himself.

More Lord!

Days in San Diego

After a number of days in the searing heat of the MidWest, Ruth and I flew out to the West Coast.  San Diego, one of our favourite places.  The weather was glorious.  Not like we had expected at all.  Low humidity really helps it to be much easier on the body.

We were met by our good friends Mark and Pat McElwee.  Ruth and I have known Mark and Pat for a good few years.  On Friday we drove out to Julian, a little cowboy town 40 miles inland and had lunch.  We had been there before and love it as a little quaint place, with shops that sell beautiful fruit pies!  On Friday evening we had the first part of our Worship Weekend.  People came from a number of different churches and we had a wonderful night in God’s presence.  Ruth and I ministered a lot on the love of God and got to pray for everyone at the end.

On Saturday, we had session two.  We opened up with worship and then questions and answers (hopefully)!  Once again it was such a great time encountering God together with others.  In the afternoon we released those who were not part of the Worship Team who stand at the front.  We were able then to zone in exclusively on issues that arise in Worship Teams.  We also did some spontaneous singing exercises.  It was fantastic and so funny.  One of them I was able to take a picture of and post it on Facebook of Danny singing about a Bush!  Yeah, a bush.  A lot of the time for singers, it is easier to start them on this process by singing about something that they can see with their eyes, hence the bush, rather than something that they can’t see, like the grace of God.

Sunday morning brought the church together and we had a wonderful time of ministering to God in worship, with the occasional contribution.  We kept pressing in deeper into the presence.  It was great.  I shared from Ezekiel 47 on the River of God and how God wants to lead us by the hand into deeper places, and ultimately into fruitfulness.  Mark asked us if we would pray for people again and that was a great time once again.

Today, Ruth and I fly to Phoenix to see out good friends Jonny and Kathy Gunn.  We are there until Friday and then we return home to the UK.  I will be posting another blog hopefully from Phoenix, and certainly posting pictures on Facebook.

Visit to St Charles, IL; and family time.

Ruth and I arrived on Friday afternoon into Chicago, 55 minutes early.  We couldn’t believe it.  We have never arrived into the States that early before.  We love it!  Dan Reynolds and Jonah picked us up and then we went drove out to St Charles where we met the rest of the family and of course, Sam, Anna and Wesley.
It is so wonderful to have them up here with us for this weekend.  We are milking every moment with them.  We love them so much and know that God has got his hand on them for an exciting future in his purposes.

St Charles, IL is a beautiful city right on the Fox River.  Where Dan and Fi live is walking distance to the city, the river and the Church property.  Although, it has been so hot and humid, I have to admit that sometimes we have just had to drive and crank up the Air Conditioning!!!

On Saturday, I had some time with the Worship Team here.  It was a really great time and we have built a relationship that is already producing.  I really sensed that God wanted to release new songs into the Church and we have had a volcanic explosion of creativity already.  God is so faithful.  We had two meeting with the Church yesterday and once again God showed up.  Healing and setting people free.  It was beautiful to see what God will do, if we step aside and allow him to move.  Ruth and I were able to share our hearts with them on the whole subject of intimacy, worship and the release of the atmosphere of Heaven.

We will only be truly be able to release the atmosphere of Heaven if the atmosphere of Heaven has released us.

We were so blessed as well that Mike and Lauren Smith, our friends from St Louis came up for the weekend.  It was great to see them again.

On Tuesday, Ruth and I drive over to see Andrew and Angela Hughes and then Bob and Marybelle Lemon in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  After that we fly to San Diego where we will post out another blog………..
